Mommy's photo shoot, and the olympics

Hi everyone! So who has been watching the Olympics? We have!! Ok so my opinion on the opening ceremonies was kinda boring, what did yall think? Not sure what was going on, everyone just kept walking around and then kids were dancing on beds. Why were they on the beds? And then big blow up things came out of no where! I wanted to go play with them. Anyways, who has been watching the games? I can't believe Michael Phelps didn't win. I think mommy said he was 4th place? What do yall think? I'll keep you posted on him.

So mommy did a photo shoot last week, and we finally got the photos yesterday. The one that they took with me in it was great. I remember when I was there during it. Mommy didn't even know I was gonna be coming to the shoot. And then mommy tried to take photos with me, but all I was thinking about was, what a weird contraption that guy was using. It was clicking and sometimes flashes a light. Weird. But mommy loved it, even though I didn't kiss her like she was asking. I think she wanted a picture of me kissing her face, I kissed her arm instead.

But mommy was very happy with all the photos from the shoot. I'll post them on the photo page on this site.

Oh and mommy was very happy yesterday. She and daddy found a BBQ place that had authentic Texas bbq, and it made mommy feel like she was back home. I wish I could have tried some. They said it was really yummy. I love bbq, its sooooo tasty!!!

First tooth!!

Hey everyone!! Guess what! I lost my first tooth!! I did! I was playing on the couch and it just fell out! I thought it was a toy and I tried to play with it, but daddy's mommy (sorry she wants to be called grandma). But grandma took it from me and her and daddy put it in a little baggy for mommy! Mommy said shes gonna start a baby book for me.

Today daddy is working. I know I said daddy doesnt have a job. Well he actually doesnt, but he does detail cars for people. He's very good at it, and he doesnt even charge that much. He's doing one today, and possibly one tomorrow and even one this weekend. Mommy thinks he should do his own car this afternoon, because it's dirty.

So ya, today daddy is working, and mommy is home with me. She has to work this afternoon, but not till later. So I get to play with mommy! I love playing with mommy, she's fun to play with. But right now I'm pretending to nap and mommy is watching The Notebook. She loves this movie. She thinks I'll like it, but I think I'm too young for it right now. I'm not understanding what's going on.

Daddy just got home!!!! Gotta go give him lots of kisses!!

Panda & Bamboo's Homemade Chicken Jerky

Thanks to Carol Hammons for sharing this recipe. With the number of reports out there concerning chicken jerky treats, you might as well make your own.

Ingredients

• Chicken Breast Fillets. What more do you need?

Suggestions: You could also sprinkle garlic powder, parsley or Parm cheese before baking.

Directions

Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Lightly grease baking sheet.

Rinse chicken and remove fat. Using a sharp knife, slice the chicken with the grain. This makes the jerky even chewier.

The slices should be very thin: 1/8" to ¼" thickness.

Put on cookie sheet and bake 2 hours. Cool and cut into bite-size pieces, or give whole.

Store in refrig. up to 3 weeks or freeze for 8 months. Yummy for the puppies!!

Chicken Tetrazzini

Ingredients

• 9 tablespoons butter
• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
• 2 1/4 teaspoons salt
• 1 1/4 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
• 1 pound white mushrooms, sliced
• 1 large onion, finely chopped
• 5 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme leaves
• 1/2 cup dry white wine
• 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
• 4 cups whole milk, room temperature
• 1 cup heavy whipping cream, room temperature
• 1 cup chicken broth
• 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
• 12 ounces linguine
• 3/4 cup frozen peas
• 1/4 cup chopped fresh Italian parsley leaves
• 1 cup grated Parmesan
• 1/4 cup dried Italian-style breadcrumbs

Directions

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.

Spread 1 tablespoon of butter over a 13 by 9 by 2-inch baking dish. Melt 1 tablespoon each of butter and oil in a deep large nonstick frying pan over medium-high heat. Sprinkle the chicken with 1/2 teaspoon each of salt and pepper. Add the chicken to the hot pan and cook until pale golden and just cooked through, about 4 minutes per side. Transfer the chicken to a plate to cool slightly. Coarsely shred the chicken into bite-size pieces and into a large bowl.

Meanwhile, add 1 tablespoon each of butter and oil to the same pan. Add the mushrooms and saute over medium-high heat until the liquid from the mushrooms evaporates and the mushrooms become pale golden, about 1-2 minutes. Add the onion, garlic, and thyme, and saute until the onion is translucent, about 8 minutes. Add the wine and simmer until it evaporates, about 2 minutes. Transfer the mushroom mixture to the bowl with the chicken.

Melt 3 more tablespoons butter in the same pan over medium-low heat. Add the flour and whisk for 2 minutes. Whisk in the milk, cream, broth, nutmeg, remaining 1 3/4 teaspoons salt, and remaining 3/4 teaspoon pepper. Increase the heat to high. Cover and bring to a boil. Simmer, uncovered, until the sauce thickens slightly, whisking often, about 10 minutes.

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguine and cook until it is tender but still firm to the bite, stirring occasionally, about 9 minutes. Drain. Add the linguine, sauce, peas, and parsley to the chicken mixture. Toss until the sauce coats the pasta and the mixture is well blended.

Transfer the pasta mixture to the prepared baking dish. Stir the cheese and breadcrumbs in a small bowl to blend. Sprinkle the cheese mixture over the pasta. Dot with the remaining 3 tablespoons of butter. Bake, uncovered, until golden brown on top and the sauce bubbles, about 25 minutes.

Escape part 2

Hey everyone! So sad story, mommy gave me a bath and now I'm stuck in my crate till I dry. Mommy would use the blow dryer, but oh my gosh, that thing is so loud! It comes at me like it wants to eat me! So I attack back, but it still comes after me. So mommy stuck me in here, she says to stop attacking the dryer. Now I'm stuck in here, cold, but I have some new things I hid in here to try to escape with! Some kinda remote, my old collar, daddy's shoe, and my hanger. I also have my bone in here just in case.

I'll keep yall posted. Gonna try out these things real quick.

More new friends

Hey everyone! So last night I went with daddy to a friends house while mommy went out with her girlfriends. I met two new puppy friends! The one I played with was Lacy, she was a dachshund. We went running outside together, and because I was bigger, I had the advantage. We were rolling and tumbling around for hours. Until daddy passed out on the floor. I then went to sleep with daddy's friend Ryan, on the bed. mommy had come home at 2 am but me and daddy weren't home, so mommy got mad at us because she couldn't get inside to go to sleep herself. When daddy woke up he realized his phone died, and that mommy was trying to contact him. He came to get me and we left to go pick up mommy and go home. Daddy is now in the dog house. I'm not sure what that saying means, I've never seen a human actually in a dog house. And daddy is lying on the bed, so what did mommy mean by that? Oh well.

Today was uneventful. Mommy slept all day, and daddy was on the computer. I for once got to sleep with mommy, and wasn't sleeping in my crate. Mommy thinks I'm getting bigger. I'm not sure why, I feel exactly the same. I have the vet next week. Is this spay thing gonna hurt, I'm kinda nervous about it.

a new friend

I made a new friend the other day. So the neighbors dog and the neighbors child came after the dog. The dog and I played and played, chacing eachother. Then the girls mommy came out with some yummy treats and I was spoiled! Daddy called me to come home but he didnt have treats so I didnt want to come home. She was very nice and I hope to get to play with her again today.

So mommy has a new food for me. Aunty Tracy brought me science diet large breed. Whatever large breed means. Its pretty good though.

Now its playtime! I'm playing with my favorite toy, ok second favorite. The hanger. Mommy is wearing her bra at the moment, so I cant play with it, and the rest are in the hamper.

Here's the yummy doggie treat

Frozen Doggie Yums

1 cup water
1 cube chicken or beef boillion (dog's favorite)
4 small pieces of chicken or beef

Disolve boillion in water and tear meat into smaller pieces about 1/2 inch squares. Freeze for about 12 hours or until solid. Great for hot days!! I loves these!!!

Raspberry Buttermilk Sherbet

4-6 servings

Ingredients

• 6 cups raspberries (4 to 5 pints)
• 1/4 cup 100% grape or apple juice
• 1 cup superfine sugar
• 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
• 1/4 cup heavy cream
• Salt and freshly cracked pepper

Directions

Puree the raspberries, juice and sugar in a food processor until smooth. Pour through a mesh strainer into a bowl and discard the raspberry seeds. Stir in the buttermilk, cream and a pinch of salt, then cover and refrigerate until cold, about 1 hour.

Transfer the mixture to an ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer's instructions. Transfer to an airtight container and freeze until firm, at least 2 hours. Serve sprinkled with pepper.

New addition to my posts!

Hey everyone! I know its been a few days, but I've been very busy. Yesterday I went with mommy to aunty Alycias and got to play with scout! We had so much fun! Mommy took a video of us and I'll get to share that with you. We played for hours. And last night I slept like a baby. What am I saying, I am a baby!

Mommy has been getting ready for a surprise for daddy, I'm not sure what it is, but I'm sure daddy will like it. Right now mommy is learning how to make stuff on the cooking channel. I am trying to get mommy to change it to animal planet, but she doesnt seem to be listening. But she did have a great idea for me, I'm gonna post a yummy recipe after every post. Most are gonna be puppy friendly. I know, you humans want yummy cakes and chicken, but hey, a dog bone is yummy as well. Ok ok, I'll not only put a yummy puppy recipe, I'll put a yummy human recipe! Let me know what you think!!

Homemade Dog Treat Recipe Soft Doggie Cookies 3 (2 1/2 oz. each) jars of baby food; either beef or chicken 1/4 cup Dry milk powder 1/4 cup Wheat germ or cream of wheat Combine all ingredients in bowl and mix well. Roll into small balls and place on well-greased cookie sheet. Flatten slightly with a fork. Bake in preheated 350F oven for 15 minutes until brown. Cool on wire rack. Refrigerate to keep fresh or freeze. Great for older dogs with teeth problems.

Super-Simple Apple-Cinnamon Dessert Crepes

Ingredients

• 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
• 1/4 teaspoon cornstarch
• 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
• Dash salt
• 1/2 cup diced Fuji apple
• 1/8 teaspoon lemon juice
• 1 tablespoon reduced-fat/light cream cheese, room temperature
• 1/2 cup fat-free whipped topping, thawed from frozen
• 2 (9-inch) ready-to-use dessert crepes (can be found in the produce aisle)
• 1 teaspoon fat-free or light caramel dip, room temperature
• Powdered sugar, for optional garnish

Directions

In a small nonstick pot on the stove, combine sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and salt with 2 tablespoons of cold water. Stir to dissolve. Add apples and lemon juice and stir. Bring to medium heat and cover. Cook until the apples have softened and liquid has thickened, about 5 minutes, uncovering often to stir.

Remove the pot from heat and transfer the mixture to a bowl. Allow it to cool for several minutes. Thoroughly stir in cream cheese. Fold in whipped topping.

Lay crepes flat on a dry surface. Evenly distribute the apple mixture between the crepes. Fold each crepe up envelope-style, first folding the sides in, and then folding/rolling it up from the bottom.

Bring a skillet sprayed with nonstick spray to medium heat. Place the crepes in the skillet with the seam-sides down. Cook them until slightly browned, about 1 minute per side. (Flip carefully.)

Plate your crepes and drizzle them with caramel dip. If you like, sprinkle with powdered sugar. Try not to pass out as you dig in!

PER SERVING (1 crepe, 1/2 of recipe): 130 calories, 2.5g fat, 209mg sodium, 24g carbs, 0.5g fiber, 12g sugars, 1.5g protein

In big trouble

Hi everyone, so I'm in big trouble. You know how mommy and daddy went out last night, and I was going to try to escape? Well none of my items worked. The scissors would have worked if it was just a bit sharper and stronger. So I resorted to barking a lot. I was trying to get daddy's parents to let me out, but they wouldn't. So I barked and barked, and nothing. Daddy should have been home around 10 but he lost track of time, and mommy was gonna meet daddy here once she got out of her meeting. But when she got out daddy was still at his friends and mommy met daddy there and they left to come here. So until they came home at midnight I kept barking. Mommy was mad at me and daddy, because I was keeping everyone in the house awake, and apparently they needed to go to work in the morning. Daddy took me outside to potty, and then held my mouth and said no bark, bad Macy. Mommy said if I keep it up, and if I'm old enough, she's gonna have to get me a bark collar. I heard those things hurt, so I'll try to stay quiet. But now mommy is at work, and daddy just got back from a job interview. So I hope he let's me out.

Escape part 1

Good morning! Or should I say good afternoon. Today is gonna be a boring day. Mommy and daddy are going to a pool party this afternoon, and I get left home. I wanna swim too! So it will be back to the crate for me. I guess I will get to try out a new way to escape. I tried barking last night while mommy and daddy were gone, but no one would let me out. So tonight I will try something different. I went on another quest this morning and found a few supplies that I'm gonna try to use. Mini binder clips, a stick,  some gum, sizzors, and one of mommys pills. Somethings gotta work! Keep you posted on my progress.

So I'm glad everyone is reading my new blog, now post some comments! I want some feedback people! Oh and I'm happy to say hey to my followers in Poland, Germany, and S Korea!!

Play time!!

Hey everyone! Wow I'm so tired! Mommy and daddy just went outside with me and I had sooooo much fun! I got to run and run and run, and I didnt even eat many leaves this time! Mommy even played with me while I was running! Daddy even recorded it for me so I can show all of you! I hope we get to do it again tomorrow.

So I have one more recording I want to show you. Mommy and daddy also made it for me to show you. It's of me, mommy, and daddy saying hi!!!

My quest

So I was left alone in mommy and daddy's room, and I went exploring. I went in search of my answers to my questions. My main wonder is how to escape this crate that I always get stuck in, without mommy finding out. So I started my journey. First I look around my dog bowl, stopped for a drink, but darn it there was no water!

Then I went and searched on the desk. There's got to be something up there. 

Whoah, I didn't know the chair moved! Gotta get down before I fall off.

So I continued my quest to figure this out, and I came upon the bed. Maybe threes something up here.

Didn't find anything, but I find my mommy's bra. And she tried to hide it from me? She should have known I'd find it. I'll search again later, keep you posted!

Good morning everyone!!! Did you have a good sleep? I did! Mommy and daddy stayed up so late last night. I was so annoyed. They wouldn't let me sleep! So I got to sleep in today, mommy was happy about that.

I just got back from my first walk of the day. I even got to play outside for a while! Now I'm playing with my squeaky toy again. I was trying to eat daddy's underwear but mommy said I can't. I'm gonna play with mommy's bra instead. That will show her! I like the bra better anyways, it smells like mommy!

Today is gonna be lots of fun! I'll write laters. Oh and I found out what that board does. You write on it and you can even erase what you wrote! Daddy was writing in two different colors, but he left it on over night. Will it still erase? I'll let you know about that also.

In trouble again

Hi. I'm in timeout yet again because I peed in the bathroom. I don't understand, mommy and daddy pee in there. Why can't I? I tried crying a bit but mommy doesn't care, she is still mad at me. Oh well, I have my bone, that I secretly buried under the blanket in here so at least I have something to do.

Why can't I eat like mommy and daddy? I love my kibbles but their food smells so good! I try to be cute and climb in mommy's lap but for some odd reason, mommy gets mad and shoves me away. It's not fair! I want to eat it so bad, but secretly mommy slips something to me sometimes.

Daddy just bought this thing called a dry erase board. He is spraying it right now with this funny smelling spray. Not sure what a dry erase board is used for, all I know is that you spray stuff on it. Weird! Daddy just said he's getting it ready. Ready for what?

I wonder if there's any way to escape this crate. Gotta look into that. I'll keep you updated.

Scout digging to china

So I went to my friends house the other day. His name is Scout. He's so much fun to play with! His mommy is best friends with my mommy, and when they hang out, I get a play date!! The thing is he's determined that if he digs enough he will make it to china. I think he's crazy. I'd rather chew on my broken bowl.

So daddy was gone all afternoon, I think mommy said he was hanging out. Whatever that means. I did get to play with mommy though! First I played with my teething ring, which use to be a bowl that I ate. Ok I didn't actually eat it, but I destroyed it. Then I played with my squeaky toy that looks like my dog bone. I love that one, it's one of my favorites!! I like to bite the middle where the squeaky noise comes from. It's funny because it annoys mommy after awhile. Mommy says dinner time, I'll write again later.

Intros!

Hi so my name is Macy. I'm a 15 and a half week old puppy. The doctor thinks I'm a German Shepherd / golden retriever mix. I know, I'm cute! Well that's what everyone else says, so I hope I am. I love to play with all my toys, chew on daddy's shoes, play with whats it called? Bra? Ya, that's it, I play with mommy's bra, which she gets mad about. What? I don't have big teeth. I cant tear it. Speaking of teeth, mine hurt so badly! Daddy says it's cause I'm teething, whatever that means. All I know is that it really hurts!

I love my mommy and a daddy. Mommy got me when I was only 10 weeks old. I was so little then! She got me from this lady who found me and my siblings under an abandoned house. So mommy took me in! She's been taking me to the doctor to get my shots, and she even takes me to work! Mommy is a paramedic, and she enrolled me in a special therapy dog program. I know I'm kinda young for it but it doesn't hurt to start early! Daddy doesn't work right now. He's looking for a job but he can't find one.

Wasn't I little? I'm getting big now though. Mommy took me to the doctor the other day and I weighed 15 lbs! I've gained 8 lbs! Mommy was proud of me that day because I was brave getting my shots. But I'm scared of my next appointment at the end of the month. Not only am I getting more shots, but I'm getting, what did they call it? I think it was called spay. I heard it hurts. Oh and mommy told them to give me a microchip so I wont get lost. Please tell me its going to be alright!!!

So today I'm stuck in my crate, because I'm in timeout. I peed on the couch, which apparently I'm not supposed to do. It's not fair! I just had to pee! I know I have to pee outside (that's what mommy says), but I can't just go up to mommy and say "I need to pee!". I can't talk, which I think is so unfair. Dogs should be able to talk like mommy and daddy can. Anyways, so I peed on the couch and am in timeout till mommy or daddy lets me out.

Mommy just bought me a new shirt yesterday. At first I thought it was a new toy to play with, But then she put it on me. I'm not sure I like having it on, but apparently everyone thinks it's cute. I cant read, but my mommy says that what it says is perfect because I love to give kisses. I do. Everyone deserves a kiss!

Mommy's taking me out to go potty now. I'll be back laters!
